Brain Waves & Biosound Therapy

Biosound Therapy works by gently guiding the brain into specific neurological states that support healing, emotional regulation, and deep relaxation. At its core, this therapy synchronizes sound frequencies, music, and vibration with the natural electrical patterns of the brain—called brain waves.

Brain waves are rhythmic electrical pulses created as billions of neurons communicate with one another. These patterns shift constantly depending on our mood, level of alertness, and what we’re experiencing both internally and externally. Measured in Hertz (Hz)—cycles per second—each type of brain wave corresponds to different mental, emotional, and physiological states.

By using targeted sound frequencies, Biosound Therapy can help nudge the brain into healthier rhythms, supporting everything from stress relief to emotional processing to deeper restorative states.

The Five Types of Brain Waves

Gamma Waves (30 Hz and above)

Gamma Waves (30 Hz and above)

Gamma Waves (30 Hz and above)

Gamma waves are the brain’s highest-frequency waves and reflect rapid, complex neural processing.

  • Associated with: peak awareness, heightened perception, problem-solving, and rapid information integration.

  • What they feel like: moments of extraordinary clarity, vivid mental imagery, or intense focus—sometimes described as “in the zone.”

  • In Biosound Therapy: gamma frequencies may help promote insight, cognitive coherence, and mental sharpness.

Beta Waves (13–30 Hz)

Gamma Waves (30 Hz and above)

Gamma Waves (30 Hz and above)

Beta waves dominate most of our waking life. They are fast, active, and outwardly focused.

  • Associated with: concentration, logical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving.

  • What they feel like: being alert, engaged, and mentally “switched on.”

  • Too much beta: can contribute to stress, overthinking, and mental fatigue.

  • In Biosound Therapy: beta balancing can help reduce mental tension and support a calmer, more regulated mental state.

Alpha Waves (8–13 Hz)

Gamma Waves (30 Hz and above)

Alpha Waves (8–13 Hz)

Alpha waves bridge the conscious and subconscious mind—quieting mental noise while keeping you awake and relaxed.

  • Associated with: stress reduction, creativity, positive mood, and light meditative states.

  • What they feel like: that gentle, centered calm you experience with deep breathing, daydreaming, or closing your eyes for a peaceful moment.

  • In Biosound Therapy: alpha frequencies are often used to ease anxiety, enhance emotional regulation, and create a state of calm alertness.

Theta Waves (4–8 Hz)

Delta Waves (0.5–4 Hz)

Alpha Waves (8–13 Hz)

Theta waves occur during deeper meditative states, REM sleep, and moments of profound introspection.

  • Associated with: creativity, emotional processing, intuition, and access to deeper subconscious material.

  • What they feel like: the drifting, dreamlike state where ideas flow, visuals are vivid, and inner awareness heightens.

  • In Biosound Therapy: theta-inducing frequencies support emotional release, trauma processing, and deep relaxation.

Delta Waves (0.5–4 Hz)

Delta Waves (0.5–4 Hz)

Delta Waves (0.5–4 Hz)

Delta waves are the slowest and most restorative brain-wave frequencies.

  • Associated with: deep, dreamless sleep; cellular repair; immune system restoration; and overall healing.

  • What they feel like: profound rest—where the body repairs and the mind resets.

  • In Biosound Therapy: delta frequencies help calm the nervous system and promote a deep physiological reset.
